Southgate to stay as England boss?
The FA will attempt to persuade Gareth Southgate to stay on as England manager after Euro 2024 – even if he doesn’t take home the trophy.
England booked a spot in the European Championship final with a 2-1 win over Netherlands on Wednesday.
According to The Times, the FA are desperate to keep him on board regardless of the result in Sunday’s final against Spain.
Southgate, who has been linked with the Manchester United job, has a contract with England until December, but FA chief executive Mark Bullingham plans to hold fresh talks with him at the end of Euro 2024.
Any new deal would take him through to the 2026 World Cup in the United States, Canada and Mexico – which would mark his 10th year in the job.
It was previously suggested that Southgate could step down after this summer’s tournament.

Ball in Red Devils’ come in court over Bat
Manchester United are reportedly moving closer to loaning Sofyan Amrabat for a second season.
TEAMtalk say United’s new sporting director Dan Ashworth has midfield as one of his transfer priorities.
PSG anchorman Manuel Ugarte remains a serious option.
But with manager Erik ten Hag a fan of Fiorentina’s Amrabat, Ashworth is prepared to consider attempting a new deal for the Moroccan.
United had a buy option on Amrabat of £21.4million.
It’s understood the Red Devils have ruled out activating that.
Fiorentina have given United until July 21 to make any new loan agreement.
