ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — Two juveniles are each charged with attempted murder and other charges related to a shooting last weekend at an Adams County sports bar that injured multiple people.
The shooting happened just after 8:30 p.m. Saturday at 52eighty Sports Bar at 7575 Broadway, northwest of where Interstate 25 meets U.S. 36. Five people were injured, including the two juvenile suspects, according to the Adams County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies said the shooting happened in the foyer of the business. Corina Pino told 9NEWS that her family was having a surprise birthday party for her 60-year-old mother at the time. She said her sister-in-law was shot in the chest and critically injured. She said her 17-year-old stepson was also shot and injured.
According to the district attorney’s office, one of the juveniles arrested is charged with 14 counts. They include:
- Four counts- attempted first-degree murder
- Four counts – first-degree assault
- One count -first-degree criminal trespassing
- One count – possession of a weapon by a juvenile
- Four counts – aggravated juvenile offender (sentence enhancer)
The other juvenile is charged with the following:
- One count – attempted first-degree murder
- One count – first-degree assault
- One count – possession of a weapon by a juvenile
- One count – aggravated juvenile offender (sentence enhancer)
Both cases are expected to remain in juvenile court and as a result, no additional information was provided about the suspects.
