McKinley Slone Hernandez, 25, was arrested on suspicion of child abuse Thursday, Lakewood Police said.
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A woman was arrested Thursday on suspicion of child abuse on a 2-year-old who was seriously injured in September, Lakewood Police said.
McKinley Slone Hernandez, 25, was taken into custody on suspicion of child abuse – cruelty toward a child on Thursday after a warrant was issued for her arrest on Wednesday, Lakewood Police said.
Hernandez is not related to the child, police said.
The child’s family said the boy is still undergoing medical procedures related to the injuries suffered, and they are anticipating a long road to recovery.
According to the family’s GoFundMe, the 2-year-old boy was taken to Children’s Hospital Colorado on Sept. 1 with a brain bleed that required emergency surgery.
