Wheat Ridge Police are investigating the crash that sent two adults and four teens to the hospital with serious injuries.
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — Six people were sent to the hospital Tuesday afternoon after two cars crashed at the intersection of Kipling Street and West 51st Place, said Wheat Ridge Police.
The injuries were “significant but not life-threatening, and we’re grateful for that,” said Alex Rose, a Wheat Ridge Police spokesperson.
Kipling is shut down in both directions from West 50th to West 58th Avenues as officers investigate at the scene, Rose said. The initial crash happened around 2 p.m.
The roadway would be closed for an indefinite amount of time, Rose said.
The initial investigation indicates that the crash involved two cars. Two adults were in one vehicle, and four teens were in the other.
Wheat Ridge Police said they will send out updates about the closure and when the road will reopen.
Police asked commuters to find an alternate route and avoid this area during rush hour.
