Storms could turn severe on both Saturday and Sunday, but there appears to be a higher risk on Saturday.

DENVER — Parts of Colorado might experience severe weather on Saturday and Sunday.

Storms are forecast to move through the state this weekend, and according to 9NEWS meteorologist Chris Bianchi, a severe threat is present for both days. Chances for severe weather are expected to be higher on Saturday, with a risk of hail, strong winds and isolated tornadoes, Bianchi reported

Heavy rain is not expected for either day, Bianchi said, but the foothills could get more rain on Sunday.

Severe storms are likely across the northeast Saturday, with the greatest threat being “along and northeast of a line from Greeley to Limon,” according to the National Weather Service (NWS) forecast office for Denver and Boulder.
