A Tecnam P2006T was reported to have went down in the area of Spruce Mountain Road and Sky View Lane in Douglas County.
LARKSPUR, Colo. — An aircraft crashed in Larkspur Sunday morning.
A spokesperson for the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) said two people were on board a twin-engine Tecnam P2006T when it crashed in a field just west of Interstate 25 in the area of Spruce Mountain Road and Sky View Lane. The crash happened around 7:45 a.m.
The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office posted that the plane’s occupants were taken to a hospital. Their conditions were not immediately released.
A Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) camera in the area showed emergency vehicles and fire apparatus blocking the three right lanes of southbound traffic.
The FAA said they and the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) will be investigating the crash with the NTSB leading the investigation.
According to maps of the area, there’s an airstrip just west of the interstate around the area where the crash occurred.
