The fire is in the Floyd Hill area near US 6 in Clear Creek County.
CLEAR CREEK, Colo. — Eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 were shut down Friday morning due to a trailer fire.
The Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) posted at 10:51 a.m. on social media that the fire was between Exit 243 (Hidden Valley) and Exit 244 (US 6) in the Floyd Hill area.
CDOT cameras showed the truck hauling the trailer was able to pull away, and it also showed that the fire had spread to grass along the interstate.
Colorado State Patrol said traffic was being stopped at Idaho Springs, and there was no estimated time given for when eastbound lanes could reopen.
This is a developing story, it will be updated as information is confirmed.
