PUEBLO, Colo. — The Classical Academy is finally brining home a football trophy.
The Titans captured their first state title in program history on Saturday night, outlasting Wellington 42-36 in a thrilling Class 2A championship game at Dutch Clark Stadium.
Wellington, in search of its first title in 71 years, led as late as 30 seconds left in the game before a missed call on a fumble led to the Titans’ game-winning touchdown in the final minute.
TCA caps off a perfect season with an undefeated (13-0) record. The Eagles went 10-3 overall as state runner-up.
