Shooting involving Colorado officers leaves woman dead

DENVER — Police officers in Denver shot and killed a woman Sunday afternoon.

Denver Police first posted about the shooting on X, formerly Twitter, just before 1 p.m.

The shooting happened at Broadway and Lawrence Street in downtown. Some roads around the shooting scene are closed and drivers are being asked to avoid the area, police said.

Details on what led up to the shooting have not yet been released.
