Lauren Vialpando, 31, faces a misdemeanor third-degree assault charge.
JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo. — A deputy with the Denver Sheriff Department was arrested Wednesday on a domestic violence charge.
The Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office said Deputy Sheriff Lauren Vialpando, 31, faces a misdemeanor charge of third-degree assault – domestic violence in connection with an incident that happened around noon in southern Jefferson County Wednesday.
The female victim had injuries from an altercation, according to the sheriff’s office.
Vialpando is currently in custody at the Jefferson County Jail.
The Denver Sheriff Department said Vialpando was immediately placed on investigatory leave. The Office of the Independent Monitor has been notified and the Public Integrity Division has opened an investigation, according to the Sheriff Department.
Vialpando became a deputy sheriff in 2017 and is assigned to the Denver County Jail.
She is due in court on Thursday, according to jail records.
