Five schools were placed on secure status Wednesday morning due to police activity in the area, according to the district.
PARKER, Colo. — The secure status for five Parker schools has been lifted as police investigate a possible attempted kidnapping.
The Parker Police Department was looking for a vehicle involved in the incident near Frontier Valley Elementary School, located at 23919 Canterberry Parkway.
Around 9 a.m., a student at the school reported to staff that a man with gray hair in a black Audi approached and started talking to the student, according to Parker Police. The student was not harmed and ran into the school to report the incident, police said.
Five schools in Parker were placed on secure status for about an hour Wednesday morning due to police activity in the area, police said.
According to Douglas County Schools, the five schools that were placed on secure status Wednesday morning were:
- Legend High School
- Cimarron Middle School
- Frontier Valley Elementary School
- Pioneer Elementary
- Iron Horse Elementary
Police completed their canvas of the neighborhood and are continuing to look for the vehicle involved, police posted to the social platform X.
