Jon and Carie Hallford were arrested Sunday, according to the FBI.
EL PASO COUNTY, Colo. — The FBI arrested the two owners of the Return to Nature funeral home in Penrose on Sunday.
Jon and Carie Hallford are accused of improperly storing nearly 200 bodies in their Penrose funeral home.
The arrests come three weeks after the couple most recently appeared in court, where their arraignment was pushed back to June 6.

In October, law enforcement found 190 bodies inside the Return to Nature funeral home’s office in Penrose. They weren’t supposed to be there. Families hired the funeral home to cremate or bury the bodies.
Both Jon and Carie are currently booked in the El Paso County Jail, according to jail records.
