Powerball winning numbers for Saturday, October 19

WASHINGTON — The Powerball jackpot is continuing to grow after no one won the jackpot of $437 million in Saturday’s drawing, the largest it’s grown since a massive $1.36 billion winner earlier this year. 

While no one won the jackpot, there were two different $1 million winners. One ticket in California and one ticket in Pennsylvania each matched all five white ball numbers, but missed out on the Powerball. 

The $437 million jackpot had a lump sum cash value of $210.5 million. That’s the option most winners take, as opposed to the full value paid out as an annuity. 

The estimated jackpot for Monday’s drawing is now $456 million, with a cash value of $219.9 million. 

The winning numbers for Saturday’s drawing were 7, 16, 19, 45, 64 Powerball 25.

If a winner matches all five numbers and the Powerball, they have the option to take the full jackpot paid out over 30 years, or a smaller cash payout. Winners almost always take the cash option.

Even with the smaller lump sum payout, federal taxes will eat into those winnings, and some states also tax big lottery prizes. Powerball is played in 45 states, as well as Washington, D.C., Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.

The odds of winning the Powerball jackpot are one in 292.2 million.

The Powerball drawing takes place live at 10:59 p.m. Eastern every Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. Tickets, which cost $2 per play, are sold in 45 states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the U.S. Virgin Islands.
