Police are still trying to identify a man who may have tried to kidnap a teenage girl on Jan. 17.

COMMERCE CITY, Colo — Police have released photos of a car they believe is connected to a possible attempted kidnapping in Commerce City in January.

Detectives are asking for the public’s help identifying the car pictured below and its driver after someone may have tried to kidnap a young teenage girl on Jan. 17.

Police said the incident happened between 4:30 and 5 p.m. in the area of Second Creek Elementary School. The man followed the girl from the area of 100th Avenue and Laredo Drive about three blocks to 97th Avenue, where the teen contacted her parents, Commerce City police said. Her parents immediately called 911.

Police said the car may be a Nissan Altima or Maxima with tinted windows and damage to the driver’s side headlight area.

The teen described the driver as a Hispanic man in his 30s, bald, with a full black beard down to his chest and a snake tattoo down his left arm.

Anyone with information should call the Commerce City Police Department’s tip line at 303-289-3626. Callers to the tip line can remain anonymous.
