THORNTON, Colo. — A person is dead after being struck by a vehicle in Thornton Friday night.
The Thornton Police Department posted on social media at 9:35 p.m. Friday that they were investigating a fatal auto-pedestrian crash in the 8700 block of Washington Street.
Washington Street was closed in both directions from Sheldon Drive to 88th Avenue. The closure was expected to last for an extended period of time, police said.
Drivers were asked to use Pearl Street or Corona Street as alternate routes.
