Officers are still investigating the cause of the crash, Denver Police said.
DENVER — A man died after being hit by a vehicle in Denver, police said.
At around noon Saturday, the Denver Police Department reported officers were investigating a crash in the area of Havana Street and Mississippi Avenue involving a motorist and a pedestrian. Police said the driver remained on scene and one person was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.
Nearly four hours later, Denver Police gave an update saying the pedestrian involved in the crash died. A spokesperson for the department said the pedestrian was a 61-year-old man.
Police said southbound Havana Street was closed after the crash, but the road reopened at approximately 2 p.m., according to the spokesperson.
The cause of the crash is still being investigated, police said.
No further information was shared about the man or the driver.
