Here’s when to cheer on Colorado athletes in cycling, sport climbing, taekwondo, and track and field.
PARIS, France — A Olympic champion cyclist takes to the track in the women’s Madison, while a Broomfield man will compete in the finals of the men’s combined in sport climbing.
Here are the Colorado athletes to cheer on Friday at the 2024 Summer Olympic Games in Paris.
Cycling
Jennifer Valente and Lily Williams will compete in women’s Madison track cycling on Friday.
Valente is from San Diego, but now lives in Colorado Springs. She’s a four-time world champion in track cycling. This is her third Olympics. Earlier in these Games, she was part of the American team that won gold in team pursuit. She also won silver in team pursuit in Rio, gold in omnium in Tokyo and bronze in team pursuit in Tokyo.

Sport climbing
Colin Duffy, of Broomfield, will compete in the finals of the men’s combined. He started climbing when he was 5 years old. He was the youngest member of the USA climbing team at the Tokyo Olympics in 2020. In his most recent World Championships in 2023, Duffy won silver in Bouldering & Lead Combined. He attended Stargate Charter School and the University of Colorado Boulder. He currently lives in Salt Lake City.

Taekwondo
Kristina Teachout, from Palm Beach, Florida, is a resident academy athlete at the U.S. Olympic and Paralympic Training Center in Colorado Springs. To pursue her dream of reaching the Olympic Games, she moved away from home at 14 to focus on training and competing. This is her first Olympics.

Track and field
Anna Hall, of Greenwood Village, is competing in the heptathlon.
During Olympic Trials in 2021, Hall crashed into a hurdle and broke her foot, so she missed out on the Tokyo Olympics. She came in first in the heptathlon in Olympic Trials this year. She attended Valor Christian High School and currently lives in Gainesville, Florida.
The heptathlon starts Thursday with four events and concludes on Friday with another four events.
