Jefferson County SWAT is in a neighborhood near South Kipling Street and East Quincy Avenue.
LAKEWOOD, Colo. — A shelter-in-place order has been lifted after an early morning barricade situation was resolved in Jefferson County.
Deputies with the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office closed off West Quincy Avenue from South Garrison Street as crews responded to a barricaded suspect with a gun on South Holland Way, according to a tweet from the sheriff’s office. In an update at about 5:10 a.m., the sheriff’s office said South Quincy Avenue had reopened as the situation at the home was over.
The call originated as a domestic violence call at about 12:15 a.m., according to the sheriff’s office Public Information Officer Karlyn Tilley. There were three children inside the home at the time of the call, according to Tilley. All three were able to get out of the home safely, Tilley said.
When deputies arrived to the scene, shots were fired out of the home from inside, Tilley said.
The Jeffco SWAT team responded to the home and attempted to contact the people who were still inside the home, Tilley said. Information about the people inside the home has not been released by the sheriff’s office.
This is a developing situation. This article will be updated as information is confirmed.
