The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office welcomed Olive, a four-month-old golden retriever, to the Community Response Team.
DOUGLAS COUNTY, Colo. — The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office has welcomed its first official Community Response Team (CRT) therapy dog.
Olive, a four-month-old purebred golden retriever, will work with Deputy Zach Zepeski and Clinician Bri Malone on the CRT. She was sworn in by Sheriff Darren Weekly.
The golden retriever was donated to the sheriff’s office by the founder of Connors K9 P.A.W.S. (Pups Assisting Warriors to Succeed) Michael Connors to be the office’s CRT therapy dog. The business provides help to veterans who are looking to obtain a service dog. Connors also donated his time to ensure Olive gets the necessary training and certifications for her role on the team.
Soon, you’ll see Olive out and about in the Douglas County community.
