Evan King was a teacher and assistant track coach at Lincoln Middle School.
FORT COLLINS, Colo. — Police have arrested a man accused of inappropriately touching students while working as a teacher and assistant track coach at Lincoln Middle School.
Evan King, 50, was arrested after an investigation stemming from an April 2024 report made to Poudre School District. The district had placed King on administrative leave immediately after receiving the initial allegation, according to police.
According to police, King is accused of inappropriately touching students on different occasions. During the investigation, police identified two victims, both females, police said. Detectives believe that there may be more victims.
King faces three counts of sexual assault on a child by a person of trust, according to police. He had been employed by the district for nine years.
“Parents expect that the wellbeing of their child is held in highest regard by those appointed to positions of trust,” said Fort Collins Police Assistant Chief Kristy Volesky, who oversees the Criminal Investigations Division. “This is an intolerable abuse of his responsibility as an educator and we are saddened by the prospect there may be more victims. Our detectives and Victim Services Unit are working to ensure these students receive the support they need during this difficult and emotional time. Now that King has been arrested, we hope any additional victims feel safe to report to us.”
Anyone who has information related to the case is asked to contact Detective Justin Butler at 970-221-6340 or Larimer County Crime Stoppers at 970-221-6969.
