DENVER — A historic mansion in Denver’s Capitol Hill neighborhood recently sold for $1 million.
Nicknamed the Marijuana Mansion, the 5,716-square-foot property at 1244 N. Grant St. has 13 bedrooms and has been an event venue for the last four years.
Its previous owner Lisa Leder completed approximately $250,000 in renovations to the property in early 2000 and operated an event venue and interactive museum called Marijuana Mansion from the home. Leder described the business as a “small version of Meow Wolf,” she previously told the Denver Business Journal.
The new owner, an LLC associated with John Hotchkiss, a Denver radiologist and developer, bought the house property but did not purchase the event business from Leder.
“It’s rare to see such a majestic looking, historic mansion smack dab in the middle of the city,” listing agent Cory Gross, first vice president of investments at Marcus & Millichap’s Denver office, said in a statement. “As a result, we received interest on it from all around the country but [I] am glad it ultimately sold to a local buyer looking to preserve it…”
