United fans call for Branthwaite
Manchester United fans have said “free Jarrad Branthwaite” following Everton’s latest transfer deal.
The Toffees have completed the £17million signing of centre-back Jake O’Brien from Lyon, with a four-year contract penned.
Branthwaite has been strongly linked with a move to United, with fans reacting on social media as one wrote: “Good now sell Branthwaite to us.”
Another added: “Free Jarrad Branthwaite.”
Rashford ‘living the dream’
Marcus Rashford has spoken about fulfilling his childhood dream of playing for Manchester United.
He told the club website: “I think as you get older, your dreams change as well.
“So, you know, in the beginning it was just about playing for Man United. And when you get there, it’s about winning.
“So I still have, you know, dreams of winning the big trophies, the Premier League and Champions League with Man United. So, you know, hopefully we can get that done.”
More from Rashford
Marcus Rashford has also revealed which other sports he enjoys outside of football.
He told Manchester United’s club website: “Do you know what, I’m a fan of doing other sports, but in the season it’s difficult to do so.
“But when I was younger, I liked to do a lot of other sports. I liked tennis a lot. A bit of cricket, if I’m batting. I don’t like fielding. Just batting. That’s the only fun bit for me.”
Rashford ‘enjoying’ pre-season
Marcus Rashford has given an insight into Manchester United’s pre-season tour of the USA.
The forward spoke to the club’s website ahead of this week’s friendly against Real Betis, explaining: “It’s been good.
“I think training has been good. Obviously, we were disappointed not to win the game [against Arsenal], but I think we also got some valuable minutes against a good opposition. So, you know, two halves to take from the game.
“But we’re obviously looking to win more games going forward. You know, it’s always nice to come back here [to UCLA]. I think they’ve got good facilities. We can get the work that we need to get done in the training sessions. So, definitely, it’s always good to come back here. It always seems to go so quickly once we get here. But it’s been enjoyable.
“The stadium was nice. Nice stadium, nice atmosphere. And it’s also good just to play in front of the fans that don’t get to go to Old Trafford week in, week out.”
Obi-Martin update
Manchester United reportedly offered to pay Chido Obi-Martin twice as much as Arsenal to land the teenage striker.
Obi-Martin is expected to complete a move to United after announcing his Gunners exit this week.
According to reports, the Gunners offered the 16-year-old a professional deal including £15,000-per-week wages.
However, the Red Devils “gladly” offered to double those wages to secure Obi-Martin’s signature.
McTominay bid rejected
Manchester United have reportedly knocked back a bid for Scott McTominay.
Galatasaray are said to have tabled a £12.6million offer for the midfielder, according to Ali Naci Kucuk.
However, United have rejected the bid and are instead after double that amount.
Both Fulham and Tottenham are also interested in signing McTominay this summer.
