Prosecutors said between Oct. 31, 2022, and Dec. 2, 2022, the suspect mainly targeted small businesses.

JEFFERSON COUNTY, Colo — A man was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to a series of burglaries in Jefferson County in the fall of 2022, prosecutors said.

Titus Emilyon, 39, pleaded guilty in October to three counts of second-degree burglary. He was sentenced Tuesday to 12 years in prison plus three years parole. His plea agreement also requires him to pay restitution to the business owners, prosecutors said. Other charges against him were dismissed as part of the plea agreement.

Twenty-two small businesses were named as victims in the plea. Prosecutors said between Oct. 31, 2022, and Dec. 2, 2022, Emilyon mainly targeted small businesses. He would gain entry by breaking a window or door with a rock and then steal cash, prosecutors said.

Emilyon was arrested on Dec. 2, 2022, after three businesses were burglarized, prosecutors said. Law enforcement officers found him parked along the highway less than two miles from the burglary scenes. He had broken glass in his hair and eyebrows, prosecutors said.

From December 2022: Man on parole for burglary arrested in 6 more burglaries in Jefferson County

Emilyon was on parole for his ninth burglary at the time, prosecutors said. He had previously served prison time for convictions in 2006, 2009, 2013 and 2016, according to court records.

In July 2023, Emilyon pleaded guilty to burglary in Boulder County, according to court records. He also has pending cases for burglaries in Clear Creek, Adams and Douglas counties.
