Preliminary information shows that the man was crossing the train tracks against the crossing signal, according to police.

DENVER — A man is dead after he was hit by a train near Quebec Street and Smith Road.

Around 11:44 p.m. Friday, a man was crossing the tracks when he was hit by an RTD train, according to the Denver Police Department. Initial information shows the man was crossing against the signal in the area before he was hit, police said.

This is a developing situation. This article will be updated as information is confirmed.
