Man, 75, dies in hit-and-run crash on Highway 36 in Adams County

The man was walking in the middle of Highway 36 when he was struck, according to the Colorado State Patrol.

ADAMS COUNTY, Colo. — A 75-year-old man who was walking in the middle of Highway 36 was struck and killed by a driver who did not stop, according to a spokesman for the Colorado State Patrol.

The crash happened just before 11 p.m. Sunday on Highway 36 near Longhorn Road in Adams County. According to the CSP, the victim, a man from Boulder, was walking in the northbound lanes of the highway when a driver, who was also headed north, struck him.

That driver left the scene, according to the spokesman. As a result of the crash and investigation, the roadway was closed until shortly before 3 a.m. Monday. 

No other information was released.
