The second-round leader was declared the winner after it was determined that the tournament could not continue.
DENVER — The final round of the Inspirato Colorado Women’s Open didn’t happen Friday as planned after a significant hailstorm moved through the area late Thursday.
The tournament was taking place at the Green Valley Ranch Golf Club. That’s an area that was hit especially hard with large hail.
Photos shared with 9NEWS from the course show large pockmarks in the grass near Hole 9. The bunker at Hole 18 also appeared soaked and littered with pockmarks.
As a result, officials determined they could not host the final day of the tournament, and the second-round leader Juliana Hung was declared the winner.

Similar to the overall championship, the Low Amateur trophy was awarded to second-round leader Alenka Navarro of Mexico City. She’s headed into her sophomore year at Kansas State and competed in her first professional championship this week.
Second place was shared by University of Denver teammates and roommates, Emma Bryant of Aurora, and Clara Gestsdottir of Kopavogur, Iceland.

The destructive storms left a path of hail from Broomfield to Aurora before leaving the metro area just before midnight.
The largest hail report was a 2.75-inch hail stone in southeast Commerce City.
There were also several reports of egg-sized hail, or 2 inches, in Aurora, Broomfield and Henderson. A substantial number of hail reports noted hail larger than an inch, or quarter size, in Denver, Northglenn, Federal Heights, Thornton, Erie and Niwot.
