The cup victory has gone down as one of the greatest moments in the ninth-tier club’s 148-year history.

After a goalless first half, Romford sprung to life as Hassan Nalbant broke the deadlock.

Sam Deering doubled the lead in the 54th minute before Nalbant bagged his brace to seal the result.

But unlike the eventual winners of the world’s biggest tournaments, the players afterwards returned to their day jobs.

This is down to many of them being part-time footballers

One such player was Lee Hursit, 27, who made a late appearance as a substitute in the match.

He posted on social media that he would be back “cutting lawns”.

He posted: “Back to cutting lawns today I guess.”

Fans were quick to spot the comment on social media as they hailed his modesty.

One commented: “The life of a non-league footballer hahahaha, it keeps you honest and hard working.”

A second said: “It still seems so unreal it’s like it didn’t really happen to me mad.”

Hursit had been a regular for “Boro” throughout the season having made 43 appearances, scoring once.

The midfielder was once of Hashtag United and had even scored a goal at Manchester United‘s Old Trafford in a match against Tango Squad FC.

It was not the only notable goal during his time at the club, as he also scored from halfway in 2021.
