House fire in Aurora injures 1

The fire happened Sunday night near Moline Street and East Highline Drive, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.

AURORA, Colo. — One person was seriously hurt during an overnight house fire in Aurora Sunday night.

The fire happened at about 9:40 p.m. near the intersection of Moline Street and East Highline Drive, according to Aurora Fire Rescue.

When crews arrived to the scene they saw smoke coming from a two story single-family home, according to Aurora Fire. One person was injured and rescued by other occupants of the home before fire crews arrived, Aurora Fire said.

Fire crews attended to the injured person and took the victim to the hospital, according to the social media post from Aurora Fire. The patient was in critical condition, Aurora Fire said.

A dog was rescued from the fire and revived by firefighters, according to Aurora Fire. No other victims were found inside the home, Aurora Fire said.

A total of 12 adults and children and six pets were displaced from the home, Aurora Fire said. The American Red Cross was notified to provide assistance to those displaced due to the fire, according to Aurora Fire.

The cause and origin of the fire are under investigation.
