CSP said a vehicle rear-ended a military vehicle north of Pueblo just after 4 a.m. Friday.
PUEBLO, Colo. — Multiple people were taken to the hospital the driver of a Ford Explorer rear-ended a military vehicle that was traveling on southbound Interstate 25 as part of a military convoy.
Troopers with the Colorado State Patrol responded to the crash near milepost 107 just north of Pueblo just after 4 a.m. Friday. They learned the Explorer had crashed into the back of a military Joint Light Tactical Vehicle (JLTV) with a trailer. It was traveling in a convoy with other military vehicles at the time of the crash, CSP said.
Several people from each vehicle were taken to area hospitals. The extent of their injuries is not known.
Initially, just the left lane of the highway was closed due to debris, but all lanes have since been closed to investigate and clean up the crash scene. Southbound traffic is diverted off the interstate at Exit 108 and returning at Exit 104.
Fort Carson has confirmed the involved military vehicle and personnel are from their post.
