Mountain View Fire Rescue has crews on scene at the junkyard, which is located just south of Dacono.
DACONO, Colo. — A large smoke plume is visible Thursday for much of the Denver metro area from a fire burning at a junkyard just off of Interstate 25 near E-470.
Mountain View Fire Rescue said firefighters are on scene working to get the fire out. There are two engines, one ladder truck and a fire medic on scene.
No injuries have been reported and the fire, which was called in about 3 p.m., is contained to the salvage yard, according to a spokesperson with Mountain View Fire.
Sky9 shows traffic heading north on I-25 slowing down, but still moving. The smoke is blowing to the east and does not appear to be impacting traffic, from the view of Sky9.
Our Sky9 crew said the fire is burning at Erie Auto Salvage.
This is a developing situation and this article will be updated as information becomes available.
