Police said a medical emergency may have caused the crash.

AURORA, Colo. — One person is dead after a crash in Aurora Wednesday night.

The Aurora Police Department said in a release that officers responded to a crash at South Peoria Street and East Yale Avenue at 6:24 p.m. Wednesday.

Police said the driver of one vehicle ran a red light and hit a sedan with four people inside. The driver who ran the red light was taken to a hospital, where they died. No information about that person has been released.

Three of the four people in the other car were also taken to hospitals, according to police. One of them had serious injuries, and two others had minor injuries.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation, according to police, but officers think a medical emergency could be a contributing factor.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office will release the name of the person who died.
