Police are looking for suspects after a dog was thrown out of a moving car, breaking his spine and leading to his euthanization.
COMMERCE CITY, Colo. — Commerce City Police are investigating after a dog was thrown out of a moving vehicle.
Police said that around 7:45 p.m. on Nov. 23, a witness saw someone throw the dog, named Rambo, from the passenger seat of a moving vehicle at the intersection of East 64th Avenue and Monaco Street.
The witness tried to help Rambo until officers arrived and took him to an emergency veterinarian. He was euthanized after being diagnosed with a broken spine, which left him unable to move while suffering from tremendous pain.
In an update, police said they were contacted by a man who said he was Rambo’s owner. He reported that Rambo was in his backyard when he left his home, and was gone when he returned.
Police said the suspects in the throwing could be arrested on felony animal cruelty charges.
