Steven Joseph “Esco” Marquez, 14, is suspected of shooting and killing a man Wednesday night near the intersection of 29th and Larimer streets.

DENVER — Denver police are looking for a teenager suspected of first-degree murder in a shooting in Denver’s River North Art District on Wednesday night.

Steven Joseph “Esco” Marquez, 14, is suspected of shooting and killing a man Wednesday night near the intersection of 29th and Larimer streets, a release from the Denver Police Department said.

Denver police say they responded to a report of man being shot after intervening in a “disturbance” around 6:40 p.m.

The victim died Friday as a result of his injuries.

Marquez is described as 5 feet 5 inches tall and 140 pounds. Denver police said he is considered armed and dangerous and should not be contacted by citizens.
