Union Station is home to 10 restaurants and three retail stores.

DENVER — Denver’s Union Station is about to get an $11 million refresh.

Union Station, located at 1701 Wynkoop St., will undergo a gentle remodel of its great hall and other areas, including its onsite hotel, The Crawford Hotel, named after prominent Denver developer and preservationist Dana Crawford.

New furniture, lighting and other updates are coming to Union Station’s great hall and the upstairs bar Cooper Lounge, in addition to the building’s 8,000 square feet of meeting and event space.

The refresh for the 112 rooms at The Crawford Hotel includes new window treatments, new furniture, wall coverings and art in the 112 rooms at The Crawford. The hotel will also be getting a new lobby and private elevator access to the various rooms.

Denver-based firm DLR Group and Sage Studio are the designers for the remodel. The building and hotel will both remain open during the renovation, with some of the hotel rooms planned to be open for bookings by this spring.

Union Station, whose original building dates back to 1881, reopened to the public in 2014 after a $54 million renovation.
