Denver loses OT Jacobs to waivers and Patriots. 9NEWS has confirmed 13 of the 17 players, a group headed by Humphrey, Burton and Henningsen.
ENGLEWOOD, Colo. — The Broncos have filled out most of their 17-man practice squad roster.
Two backup offensive linemen who got away – tackle Demontrey Jacobs, who was claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots and center Sam Mustipher, who decided instead to sign with the Los Angeles Chargers’ practice squad.
The Broncos were not awarded any new players off waivers Wednesday.
The Broncos also lost defensive lineman Elijah Garcia, who is signing with the New York Giants’ practice squad. Garcia had one sack in three games for the Broncos last year but was among their final cuts Tuesday.
Practice squad salaries are $12,500 a week, or $225,000 for an 18-week season for a player with 2-or-fewer accrued seasons.
Players with three or more seasons get between $16,800 and $21,300 a week, or between $302,400 and $383,400 per year.
