DENVER — Welcome news for skiers and snowboards as snow started falling across Colorado’s mountains Friday night and is expected to continue into Sunday.

The snow intensifies Saturday night as a push of energy moves into Colorado. Travel will be very difficult in the high country through early Sunday.

While a few flurries could hit Denver on Sunday afternoon, little to no accumulation looks likely below 6,000 feet in elevation (most of the metro area).

LATEST FORECAST: Strong winds in the foothills with heavy mountain snow

Here are the snow totals as of 2 p.m. Saturday, according to the National Weather Service:

  • Telluride – 13 inches
  • Sawpit – 7.6 inches
  • Red Mountain Pass – 6.5 inches
  • Glenwood Springs – 6.2 inches
  • Steamboat Springs – 5.5 inches
  • Mount Crested Butte – 5.5 inches
  • Montrose – 5.2 inches
  • Camp Bird – 5 inches
  • Coal Bank Pass – 5 inches
  • Olathe – 4.5 inches
  • Cedaredge – 4.5 inches
  • New Castle – 4.4 inches
  • Silverton – 4.2 inches
  • Molas Pass – 4 inches
  • Cattle Creek – 4 inches
  • Vail – 3.9 inches
  • Crawford – 3.5 inches
  • Chromo – 3 inches
  • Gunnison – 3 inches
  • El Jebel – 3 inches
  • Pagosa Springs – 3 inches
