The Buffaloes still need some help to make it to the Big 12 Championship game.
BOULDER, Colo. — The Colorado Buffaloes defeated the Oklahoma State Cowboys 52-0 on Friday to improve to 9-3, keeping alive their hopes for a Big 12 championship and a berth in the College Football Playoff.
Quarterback Shedeur Sanders threw five touchdowns in the rout. Two-way star Travis Hunter caught three of them and had one interception, further supporting his bid for a Heisman trophy.
The Buffaloes will need some help to make it to the Big 12 Championship game. They need two of the following teams to lose: Arizona State, Iowa State and BYU. If that doesn’t happen, they need BYU to lose to Houston and Texas Tech to beat West Virginia.
Without a Big 12 title, the Buffs will have no chance at an at-large berth in the College Football Playoff. But they would still have doubled their win total from last season and will play in a bowl for the first time since 2020.
