Residents in the area of the 4300 block of East Hinsdale Place could be without water for an extended period while crews work to repair the line.
CENTENNIAL, Colo. — Crews are working to repair a water main break that created a 12-foot sinkhole in Centennial on Sunday.
Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office posted at 12:11 p.m. on social media that deputies and firefighters from South Metro Fire were on scene in the 4300 block of East Hinsdale Place.
The water was shooting about 15 feet into the air in the residential neighborhood.
Denver Water was working to patch the line, which was expected to take four to six hours, before returning at a later date to make permanent repairs.
The intersection of E. Hinsdale Pl. and S. Clermont Dr. was closed while crews worked to repair the line.
Denver Water reported 17 customers did not have water due to the break.
Crews are investigating what caused the 8-inch pipe to burst.
