A man told officers he had pulled into a Circle K when a man in a Mercedes began shooting at him. He was not hit, but his vehicle was.
BOULDER, Colo. — Police have arrested a man accused of firing shots at another man at a gas station in Boulder Monday morning.
The Boulder Police Department said that around 3:30 a.m. Monday, officers responded to the Circle K at Baseline Road and 28th Street for a report of a shooting. A man told officers he had pulled into the Circle K when a man in a Mercedes began shooting at him. He was not hit, but his vehicle was. The Mercedes driver then drove away.
Officers closed westbound Baseline Road near 29th Street while they investigated, according to police. Boulder Police reported Baseline Road reopened just before 7 a.m.
Sheriff’s deputies saw the Mercedes heading up Boulder Canyon toward Nederland and began following it. The driver eventually slid off the road and crashed outside Nederland, then ran away, according to police. He was found a short distance away hiding in the Sundance Lodge.
Boulder Police said SWAT teams responded and took the man into custody. He was not hurt.
Police said the suspect is 25-year-old Raheem Adebayo Ayoola Raji of Golden. He was arrested on two counts of attempted first-degree homicide, according to police, and more charges are pending.
