‘it’s a big honour to be captain’ says Saka
Saka was handed the Arsenal armband in place of club captain Odegaard against Sheffield United.
The Hale End graduate declared it was a special moment for him amid the 5-0 win.
As quoted by The Athletic, he said: “It was a really special moment for me. To be honest, I can’t really describe how I was feeling when I was walking out.
“I just tried to take in the atmosphere and just realise where I am and where I’ve come from.
“And then obviously I had to switch my focus to the game and we got the three points, which is the most important thing at the end of the day.
“I was really proud, it’s a big honour. I just tried to remember where I came from and where I am today, and how proud I can be of myself. Then obviously, I switched the focus to the game.”
Arsenal fans fume as Ballon d’Or results revealed
Arsenal fans were left fuming after star man Bukayo Saka and Martin Odegaard placed LOWER than struggling Man United goalkeeper Andre Onana in the men’s Ballon d’Or.
Odegaard placed joint 28th while Saka ranked 24th.
However, Onana came in one higher at 23rd.
One supporter said online: “This Ballon d’Or is the biggest joke of all time.”
A second said: “Surely this isn’t serious?!”
While a third claimed: “Rigged!”
