The fire west of Loveland burned about 9,000 acres and destroyed 28 homes.
LARIMER COUNTY, Colo. — An arrest has been made in connection with the Alexander Mountain Fire which damaged or destroyed more than four dozen structures and burned more than 9,000 acres in Larimer County west of Loveland earlier this summer, the Larimer County Sheriff’s Office said.
The fire started on July 29, and investigators said previously that it was human-caused. It destroyed 28 homes and 21 outbuildings, according to the U.S. Forest Service.
Previously, investigators said they were particularly interested in information about anyone who was in the area immediately east and below the peak of Alexander Mountain, and photos of the fire between 10:30 and 11:15 a.m. on July 29.
On Wednesday, the sheriff’s office announced that an arrest had been made. They and U.S. Forest Service officials will host a news conference at 1 p.m. to provide additional details.
