The sheriff’s office said there is no threat to the community after the shooting in the area of South Himalaya Street and East Quincy Avenue.
ARAPAHOE COUNTY, Colo. — One person was taken to the hospital after a shooting involving sheriff’s deputies Wednesday afternoon in Arapahoe County.
The Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office posted on social media about a heavy police presence in the 4500 block of South Himalaya Circle. That’s in the area just south of East Quincy Avenue.
They later posted an update that deputies had been involved in a shooting and that one person had been taken to a hospital.
Sky Vista Middle School was placed on a secure perimeter during the incident. The school has since returned to normal operations.
There is no threat to the community, the sheriff’s office said.
