A precautionary boil water advisory was issued for Strasburg after low water pressure was detected.
STRASBURG, Colo. — The town of Strasburg is under a precautionary boil water advisory after low water pressure was detected over the weekend, Adams County Health Department said on Monday.
Strasburg’s water storage was drained while fighting a fire near Byers on Saturday, the health department said. The brush fire, which was estimated to be at least 1,100 acres, burned eight structures before it was contained, according to the Arapahoe County Sheriff’s Office.
No contamination of the water has been detected. The advisory was issued out of caution to keep businesses and people who live there safe. The water system is being worked on, and the health department said the goal is to have the advisory lifted by Wednesday.
While a boil water advisory is in place:
- Bring water to a rolling boil for one minute before consuming it.
- Boiled or bottled water should be used for drinking, making ice, brushing teeth, washing dishes and food preparation.
- Infants, older adults and immunocompromised people should avoid drinking the water during this time and instead use bottled water.
