DENVER — Severe thunderstorms are likely to impact the eastern half of Colorado, including the Denver metro area, on Friday afternoon.
The storms are likely to lead to large hail and damaging winds across eastern Colorado, beginning with storms developing after noon Friday in the Front Range foothills.
The severe weather is forecast to impact the Denver area and areas of Colorado east of Interstate 25 mainly between 1 and 9 p.m. Friday. Hail and winds are the main concerns, and a tornado is also possible.
Most of the stronger storms are forecast to clear out of Colorado by 8 or 9 p.m. Friday.
After scorching heat in Denver on Wednesday and Thursday, Friday will be 10 to 15 degrees cooler, with highs in the mid-80s with more humidity.
