A tree caught fire Wednesday afternoon and spread to two homes in the 6800 block of South Franklin Street in Centennial, South Metro Fire Rescue (SMFR) said. That location is just south of Arapahoe Road and seven blocks west of South University Boulevard.
Fire officials said the tree was located between two homes and the fire spread to the homes. The people in each of the homes were able to evacuate safely, SMFR said.
