This is the second time CU will appear on three of the four major networks in the U.S. in the same season.
BOULDER, Colo. — The Colorado Buffaloes football team will play at least two more games on national television this fall.
The CU Buffs football team was selected Thursday to play on CBS and ABC when the television partners of the major conferences announced the schedule for the first three weeks of the season.
Colorado will play at Colorado State’s Canvas Stadium in the “Rocky Mountain Showdown” on Saturday, Sept. 14, with kickoff set for 5:30 p.m. on CBS.
The networks also announced CU’s regular season finale, when Oklahoma State visits Boulder on Friday, Nov. 29, will kickoff at 10 a.m. on ABC.
With games previously scheduled to air on NBC and ESPN, the Colorado’s first four announced start times are all on national TV.
CU Athletics said this is the second time CU will appear on three of the four major networks in the United States in the same season, the other coming in 1990.
With FOX being a partner of the Big 12, Colorado has a chance to appear on all four networks in the same season for the first time in school history, CU Athletics said.

The CU Buffs have sold out of season tickets for the 2024 football season.
CU Athletics said football season tickets sold out for the second-straight season and the 10th time in CU history.
This is the second time CU has sold out of season tickets before August of an upcoming season. The first time was last year.
The 2024 football season is Colorado’s second under head coach Deion “Coach Prime” Sanders and the first in the program’s return to the Big 12 Conference.
“Selling out of season tickets for the second year in a row shows how strong our fan base is and the continued impact of and trust in Coach Prime,” said CU Athletic Director Rick George. “We are ready for an exciting 2024 season and expect a full house for every game for the second straight season.”
Fans wanting to express interest in season tickets for the 2025 football season can sign up on a wait list.
CU students can purchase Student Sports Passes for the 2024-25 season at 10 a.m. July 10.
CU Athletics said that prior to last season, it had been 27 years since last selling out of season tickets, doing so in a seven-year run from 1990-96. The only other time CU sold out of season tickets was the 1972 season.
For the second-straight year, the season ticket renewal rate finished above 98%, the best two marks in school history.
