No injuries were reported in the crash. Wheat Ridge Police gave no estimate for when all lanes will be fully open.
WHEAT RIDGE, Colo. — A semi truck hauling gravel crashed Friday afternoon in the eastbound lanes of Interstate 70 near Kipling Street in Wheat Ridge.
Wheat Ridge Police said the crash happened a little before 1:30 p.m.
A pickup truck headed eastbound cut off another pickup truck, which caused the driver of the second pickup to spin out in front of the semi, police said. The semi crashed into the second pickup and then rolled onto its side, spilling its load across I-70, according to police.
No serious injuries were reported in the crash. Only one far-left lane of traffic is getting through the crash scene.
Arvada Fire crews were on scene helping to shovel off some of the debris and gravel.
Colorado Department of Transportation (CDOT) crews arrived with a front-end loader at the crash site just before 2:15 p.m. to help clear the gravel off of the road. Wheat Ridge police didn’t give an estimate for when all lanes will be open.
