Denver Police said the shooting happened just before 7 p.m. near the 2900 block of Gilpin Street.
DENVER — A man was shot and wounded in the Whittier neighborhood Saturday evening.
Denver Police said the shooting happened near the 2900 block of Gilpin Street a few minutes before 7 p.m. That location is near Fuller Park which is behind Manual High School.
The man was rushed to a hospital for treatment, according to police. His condition is not known.
Investigators said they are working to come up with a description of the suspect.
Anyone with information about the shooting is asked to call Crime Stoppers at 720-913-7867.
Tipsters can remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward of up to $2,000.
Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation.
From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
