Pueblo Police found the remains of two children who had not been seen since 2018.
PUEBLO, Colo. — Police in Pueblo have arrested one suspect and are looking for another in connection with the deaths of two children who had not been seen in more than five years.
The Pueblo Police Department said in a release Friday that Corena Rose Minjarez was taken into custody on Thursday. The other suspect, Jesus Dominguez, is still at large.
Dominguez is the children’s father, according to police. Minjarez is his girlfriend and has no relation to them.

Police revealed last month that they had found a metal container in a storage unit that was filled with hardened concrete on Jan. 20. On Jan. 22, they determined that the remains of a young girl were inside that container and began the process of identifying them.
On Jan. 31, police interviewed two people they called persons of interest: Minjarez and Dominguez. Police said the possibility of the children being in Phoenix was mentioned but officers followed up on that lead with no success.
Police said during the investigation, detectives found a vehicle that belonged to Minjarez at a local scrap yard. On Feb. 6, police searched the vehicle and found a suitcase in the trunk that contained the remains of a young boy.
On Feb. 15, DNA evidence confirmed that the remains in the metal container belonged to Yesenia Dominguez, who was about three years old when she was last seen in the summer of 2018. The remains in the suitcase belonged to Jesus Dominguez Jr., who was about five.
That same day, arrest warrants were obtained for Minjarez and Dominguez for two counts of first-degree murder and two counts of abuse of a corpse. Police said Dominguez has an additional charge of theft of government benefits.
Minjarez was arrested shortly after her arrest warrant was issued, according to police, and she’s being held at the Pueblo County Detention Center on a $2 million bond. Police have not been able to find Dominguez.

Pueblo Police said no missing persons reports were ever filed for the two children and investigators were not aware of them until the day the Yesenia Dominguez’s remains were found.
