Man killed in Aurora shooting Thursday morning

A 33-year-old man died after the shooting in the 12100 block of East Ford Avenue, police said.

AURORA, Colo. — Aurora Police are investigating the fatal shooting of a man Thursday morning.

Officers responded to a reported shooting just after 10 a.m. and found a 33-year-old man from Aurora with a gunshot wound in the 12100 block of East Ford Avenue. That’s a few blocks west of the intersection of Interstate 225 and East Mississippi Avenue, police said.

Officers performed lifesaving measures until paramedics arrived. The victim was taken to a hospital where he later died from his injuries.

No arrests have been made. Police did not release details about the shooting or suspect information.

The Arapahoe County Coroner’s Office identified the victim as Isaiah Pickens.

Metro Denver Crime Stoppers works by assigning a code to people who anonymously submit a tip. Information is shared with law enforcement, and Crime Stoppers is notified at the conclusion of the investigation. 

From there, an awards committee reviews the information provided and, if the information leads to an arrest, the tipster will be notified. Rewards can be collected using the code numbers received when the tip was originally submitted.
